The problem with all of these arguments is that they fly in the face of the constitution. the Constitution states very simply that there is a fundamental right to vote. It does not require the voter produce photo ID, pass a literacy test, forfeit drinking water, or any other of the Jim Crowe type laws that are resurfacing.

Someone said “Evil to the left Cowardice to the right” It needs to be called what it is! This can be said of any issues we face in our current society Evil from the left and Cowardice from right and it progresses at a frightening pace!

All Americans should want honest and fair elections! Manipulating and trying to gain some sort of advantage by entitlement baiting is classic democratic strategy to achieve power and remain in power. So so skwh312 you are wrong they don’t want free and fair, legal elections ! They want power to erase God from the public square you close your eyes and pull the lever!

If you are going have a program that targets, almost exclusively, one ethnicity to help them get ID's, it is condescending. If getting an ID is a problem to that extent, that is just one small issue in the big picture of their lives. What are you going to do about everything else they face far more frequently on a regular basis? Are you going to insert yourself into every other aspect of their lives as though they are helpless unless you are their savior? They will face far bigger issues that will affect them personally if they are so powerless they can't get an ID without your help. Certainly some people have it harder than others. There is a whole world full of such people who are starving because they don't have food. Don't you think it might be better to do something about the bigger issues that are much more real and far more desperate? It's very very condescending to make things seem impossible when they are not while ignoring situations that are far more grievous and the victims truly will suffer without assistance. Getting an ID may be harder for some. I don't believe it impossible.

Here's a different voice of a black congressman who feels the "compassion" of those opposing voter ID laws is patronizing and condescending. - On Monday’s broadcast of Fox News Radio’s “Fox Across America,” Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) stated that arguing that voter ID laws suppress the black vote is “disrespectful. It is literally the soft bigotry of low expectations.” And “pisses me off.” - Donalds said, “It bothers the hell out of me. And what’s worse is that they never show data how, somehow, black people don’t have access to IDs or it disproportionately affects them because they simply can’t get it. They just say it. … And I find it, frankly, it’s disrespectful. It is literally the soft bigotry of low expectations. Because what you’re saying is is that a black kid can’t get an ID. … And so, for the left to use this as somehow, having an ID is somehow hindering your right to vote is outrageous to me. It pisses me off.”

“Most Americans” want honest elections? Probably. Most Republicans? No. 3/29/2020, “Fox and Friends,” the orange menace said, “They had things, levels of voting that if you’d ever agreed to it, you’d never have a Republican elected in this country again.” Moscow Mitch accidentally said the same on the House floor 1/30/2019.
