I strongly disagree with the negative response from Skeptic. Skeptic totally missed the point of the article and unfairly accused Dr. Brown of making the article on the passing of this young man ultimately about himself.
In reality, it was a kind act on the part of Dr. Brown to write about this young man and to honor him, all while giving an exhortation to leaders to lead well.
Jesus said, “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” Though I have never met Dr. Brown personally, he seems to genuinely care about people and want to help them. I'm especially glad Dr. Brown cares about, and is there, for young men like Salvatore. Because it seems sexism has almost become culturally acceptable as long as it’s sexism against men. Erica Komisar, in her article, “Masculinity Isn’t a Sickness,” said, “In my practice as a psychotherapist I’ve seen an increase of depression in young men who feel emasculated in a society that is hostile to masculinity.”
I know it doesn’t apply to every young man, but it shouldn’t be happening at all! It is sinful behavior that is “toxic,” not masculinity! A lot of men are hard workers, good fathers and loving husbands. There are men who love God and serve others such as Dr. Brown. We need examples of such men and to have heroes to look up to - perhaps especially boys. Thank you Dr. Brown.

Why do you have the make the article on the passing of this young man ultimately about you? My sympathy is with the grieving family and, to be honest, in this context I don’t care the least about how you consider yourself to be the perfect role model. Being more humble and less self-centered goes a long way!
