Too often those who say we are hurting our witness are either a) not christian and if we didn't vote for trump would find some other thing to say hurts or witness because they hate us, b) are liberal christians following their own christ and don't like people who follow the true christ so they too would find something else to complain about, or c) are believers but feel we shouldn't get involved in the world just save souls or feel we should avoid anything political but let the world decide what is a political issue and what is a spiritual issue (sin always get classified as political to keep us out of it)(they also let the world define words for them and run with those sin loving definitions).
yes I think he many time SAYS the wrong thing even when he MEANS the right thing. But even if he SAID the right thing it wouldn't help people would still complain about what he says because he isn't saying what THEY want. until he starts parroting the socialist line 100% they will hate what he says. Personally I am more impressed by someone who walks the walk even if they don't talk the best talk than a person who talks the talk but nothing else. As far as politicians go I am glad we have a president who speaks plainly and doesn't mince words than one who speaks political BS and says nothing. I would prefer he speak eloquently and plainly but I'll take brash plainness over eloquent BS any day.

Several thoughts come to me on this subject. One is that some Christians don't realize that we are in a political war and that they are under attack. The goal of the opposition, in this case, is to get evangelicals to not vote for Trump next time. And if shaming will do the job, then that is what will be used. That can be an appeal to our self-righteousness. But how righteous are we really? Doesn't the Bible say that we are not righteous at all and that all of our true righteousness comes only from God? Was Trump elected to be a Pope or a ministry leader? I don't think so. I believe God put him in there to be a warrior, like King David in spite of his imperfections (that we all have), and to get the job done. I am one of many who heard in the Spirit that Trump would be elected president even before he was nominated. Who do we think God is? This is the same God who empowered Elijah, who killed hundreds of the prophets of Baal to free Israel from a great evil. Elijah even lost his nerve after doing that. Just because there are many believers doesn't mean that many of us could do the job Trump is doing against great opposition. Many of us could be easily manipulated by the opposition to not do the job God sent us to do by appealing to our self-righteousness. In addition, just watching the mainstream media is like watching a continuous propaganda machine, kind of like the old Soviet news media, and not realizing it is genuinely false news with an agenda. Peer pressure should not be what guides us either if we happen to be in an anti-Trump environment. I pray that God will continue to guide President Trump, and encourage, strengthen, protect, and bless him and his family and those that are needed to get God's agenda done to turn the country around from where it was heading before he was elected. Thanks to God!
