Yes it's true that our Lord looks upon the heart when we pray. Results are based on faith in His word. Also consider that the rain falls on the just and unjust, the tares and the wheat, so having prayers a answered is not a guarantee of salvation. Please reference Matthew 7: 22 &23 "many will say unto me in that day, Lord Lord etc..."
