Well, that was a cheery note. Not really.
Keith O. has been a miserable person for decades. He's just becoming more hateful, and reaching into Hell for the worst things he can think of to say about, and toward, Christians. It must be a lousy way to live. How exhausting would it be to spew that kind of poison on a daily basis.
Respectfully, I disagree with what Dr. Brown said about Trump's rhetoric. He has had to fight back against the worst attacks we have ever seen on a president. That's his personality. It's certainly not my way, but I understand him and why God is using him.
I just pray God is not finished using him. Because we will see the end of America as a free Republic if Biden and the dems get in.

Trump will win in 2020 as prophesied. The Left's hair will be set on fire! Then the prophecies of Mystery Babylon, which is the USA, persecuting Christians will begin to be fulfilled:
For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, And You have given them blood to drink. For it is their just due." (Rev. 16:6 NKJ)
"Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you holy apostles and prophets, for God has avenged you on her!" (Rev. 18:20 NKJ)
"And in her was found the blood of prophets and saints, and of all who were slain on the earth." (Rev. 18:24 NKJ)

SteveW couldn’t have made my point any more clear: the persecution complex and the absolute refusal to acknowledge any self-assessment whatsoever is at the very heart of the conservative Christian movement.

Everyone needs to relax. This has been a stressful year. We are in the midst of a global pandemic that is putting everyone under enormous strain. Olbermann's comments are unhinged, but we all need to calm down.
The current litigation and recounts need to proceed. It's unlikely that the Trump campaign will be able to change vote tallies in multiple states. There is no precedent for this in American history. While allegations of improprieties are gaining traction online, the Trump campaign has not been very successful in proving these allegations. Several lawsuits have been dismissed already due to a lack of evidence.
I suspect that the 'prophecies' of a second term were more wishful thinking. A part of the church has become so obsessed with partisan politics that it seems like Christianity is secondary for these people. If this part of the church ends up looking foolish, God could be rebuking it for having its priorities wrong. Putting politics ahead of the Kingdom would be idolatry.
Nonetheless, this needs to play out in an orderly, legal fashion. Once it has, however, there needs to be respect for the rule of law and if there's a new President-elect, a peaceful transfer of power.

I see Swkh310 is right on cue with his (her?) usual inane comment. Every one of his comments is unfailingly critical and as far as I can tell he has never once made even a vaguely constructive comment on this site. I think he has been sent to be Dr Brown's "thorn in the flesh". Be encouraged Dr Brown, you must be doing something right to attract such persistent and unmerciful criticism. We need to pray for Swkh310.

Let's not forget it didn't take too long after Hitler was elected in Germany for Jews to be openly persecuted and for the camps to be set up. Liberal and compromised conservative Christians will be all to eager to help.
For the commenter who mentioned ancient Israel remember God removed them from among the nations more than once. No reason he can't remove us!

Thanks Dr. B.: We were so discouraged. Nancy asked me “What does Dr. Brown have to say about this? I need to hear from an intelligent Christian. “ so we got this. We were discouraged - Now we are encouraged. Not about the persecution, but we will NOT BE COMPLACENT. We will continue to fight with God’s weapons. God has the victory.

The persecution complex is oxygen for the Religious Right. It’s always been ridiculous and utterly unfounded.

Good article Dr Brown. To be crystal clear though, "we overcome evil with good" by "turning the other cheek", and not by offering up our necks for beheading. We are also called to be "peacemakers" not "appeasers". Churchill famously defined an appeaser as: "Someone who feeds a crocodile in the hope that it will eat him last". Let us "speak the truth in love" but without giving place to evil even for a second.

There are many parallels between Israel in the Old Testament and America. As the word of God went forth out of Zion unto the nations in ages past, so also in this last period of time, many people of many nations are now proclaiming Christ through flourishing movements which can be traced back to missionaries, that were sent forth from America to preach the Gospel throughout the world. The Christian character of our nation has been dying for decades. No doubt persecution will increase and many laws will come into effect that make expression of some biblical beliefs punishable. The result will be that the persecution will have the opposite affect on people who will then become stronger and more outspoken. Trying to silence the people of God, the advisory will increase their visibility and revival fires will burn. Will Christianity regain worldly power in the form of influence of governmental policies as it has enjoyed in the past? In my view, that is very doubtful. However, my mind keeps going back to Samson, and America as Samson. As Samson lost the covering of his head and all his strength was gone with it, has our nation also ceased to be minded and guided by God as the covering of our head? Are we still truly one nation under God? I do not believe America is coming back to the pinnacle of its height as a worldly super power. However, I do believe revival is coming. Just as Samson was revived one more time for one last battle, wherein those who were slain in his death were more than those slain in his life. This is what I keep coming back to in my thoughts of Christianity in America. Metaphorically speaking, maybe there is a greater work, and a greater victory to be accomplished in death than in prosperity.
