Our hearts weigh heavy. Grief. We feel "frozen" - but still move to complete the day. I read another culture commentary where the term "compassion fatigue" was used to describe how we react - it's happened so many times. The first time was one time too many.
This afternoon my husband & I were talking and praying and thinking. He read a few headline reports, and stopped --- He stood up, and started to close his laptop - and then said one of those "I just heard ...." (in his heart) ...so, instead we ended up looking up Luke 13 on it --- I'm not sure if I can post the link but I'll try - rather than write it out: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke%2013%3A%201%20-%205&version=NLT;TPT Basically, it's Luke 13:1 - 5
Jesus was responding to what seems to be similar questions - asked by even those who are righteous, and the thought of those doing righteous acts dying ruthlessly... Jesus' answer really warned: ..."I tell you again that unless you repent, you will perish, too.”
Nobody is exempt from eternity --- we need to be on our knees repenting for our negligence in caring for our nation's condition.

In my comment below I meant to say "sermonize" not demonize. I can't find how to edit comments.

I wish Christian's were more vigilant in seeking out the truth. We have supposed mass shootings like Sandy Hook, Vegas, etc., which were stunts enacted in order to push gun control. Charlottesville was faked to stoke racial tension. If you listen to the mainstream media you will not hear the Truth, you will not see the evidence countering the lies we are told, etc. With this recent event in Florida, we are again being told that guns control must increase. But did you hear that the school was running a drill that day? Did you hear the eyewitness in the school reported multiple shooters? Did you see the former CIA officer on CNN fake crying as if it devastated him? Probably not. Christians go back to their churches and demonize about how Americans are so awful when we being fed propaganda. I'm not saying no one was hurt in Florida but past mass shootings have proved that they were staged, and when I bring this up to Christians in a logical, coherent way they merely resist the idea. We have powers and principalities working through the media to put fear into us, to intimidate us and to convince us that gun rights are unnecessary in our age. But we are not shown that gun violence has actually been going down for two decades! Christian's please wake up! Yes pray and repent but also be wise as serpents!

God makes it very clear:
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14 NIV)
It's prayer and turning from our wicked ways. Thank you, Dr. Brown.
